Ike's Ride

Well as you have probably already seen on the Moped Riders site a lot of pictures of the ride. It was great! Covered about a little over 90 miles on the Saturday and had only a couple of break downs , if you call them that. Late start as Don Ohio had a flat on the way to the ride, (He covered that day a total of about 270 miles on his Streetmate just to make the ride) Another flat on the route by a LX, an old Eagle that the carb fell off but was put right back on and a soft seize on a new kitted Special addition LX. A total of 28 bikes made the ride and was quite impressive when they were al spread out and cruising. The local "County Mounties" had the lights held for us the couple of times we crossed through Georgetown, Ohio and that was something as we made no stops in the town at any crossroads. No injuries and everybody successfully completed the trip. Lots of wrenching before and after the ride, and a great BBQ afterwards put on by Ike and Maggie Fist. I also brought home another Tomos LX project bike for my grandson. This is a basket case and Ike was good to give me most of the parts to get it back on the road. This will be a winter project, but will "Por16" the gas tank and strip what
ever paint will need to be done before then. I brought this ped in as "moped parts" so I partially disassembled just in case there were questions asked. Also had a bill of sale as parts and a garage sale situation. Anyway nothing was said at customs and the two other bikes were not even looked at. The project ped is a 1996 Tomos LX. I urge anyone who wants a great week-end of riding and good company to try this ride. Driving time is approximately 8 hours each way.
