Restless

I've cheated folks. Last weekend I was really bored and I sort of made a bit of a trip late saturday night.

Not really much to say other than it was fun and that the streets of St. Catharines were laid out and labelled by a drunken, feebleminded mental patient.

Don't underestimate the power of the moped!

nice one matt! sounds like fun! did they give you any hassle crossing the border on a ped?

No hassles, Lindsay... they did ask me open the bags in the way in (OH NOES, I BE AN MO-PED SMUGGLER!). The border guard was sort of confused by the notion of crossing the border for only 5 minutes just for the novelty value.

About halfway back home, that go-round of Lake Ontario the scooter kids had done started creeping into my mind. If I'd kept going around, rather than turn around, the two tanks I used up would have made it to around Rochester, which is about a third of the way round the lake (Roughly speaking).

Now THAT would have been one hell of a trip. You'd definitely need a rest somewhere, (maybe Kingston) and your moped had better be damn amazing shape for that!

This has adventure has me replanning the trip around Lake Simcoe ... approximately 275 KM ... and very doable ... I've made it half way around, so now its just a matter of going all the way. I like the idea of these longer trips, I think we should get some organized ...

Awesome! Its nice out there, as soon as you start to get out of the cities, the riding is just great. Very little traffic, just wide open space to roll free! See if Vlad is up for the trip.
I figure we can do some lunch and dinner on the way. Should make for a good adventure ....

Well, haha I'm having two wisdom teeth extracted next Saturday, so I think that puts the odds of a 250km moped ride that weekend out, at least for me anyway.
